Crap, where is everyone else? Jake looked around the hall in vain, hoping to spot flash of fur or something, but there was nothing. Yet another plan that didn't go as planned. All they had to do was investigate this new facility the yeerks had built....and now they were just trying to get out alive. TSSSEW! A dracon beam shot down the hall perpendicular to him. Jake took off at full speed down the hall, searching for a place to morph. Just as he reached the end fo the corridor, he caught sight of a door which he changed direction to crash into and fly into the room beyond.
He pulled himself together quick, scouting out this new room, which thankfully was devoid of anything save a conference table and half a dozen chairs. Shutting the door, he immediately began to focuse on the dna within him. First thing to change were his hands, the fingers shortening and pulling in, the nails shifting position and shape. Paws looked rather odd with no fur. Sploot! A tail shot out of his backside as his legs began to shift, the muscles rearranging themselves as the bone structure altered position, forcing him onto all fours. His face started to puff out, as the rest of his body began to put on weight and grow larger. The final change was an explosion of orange and black fur that started around his damp nose and spread across his body to his tail. The tiger mind kicked in and he could feel the confidence there, it was much needed.
As the first Hork-Bajir burst through the door, he lept, the claws hitting the shoulders and bringing it down into the one behind it as Jake dug his teeth into its throat, blood welling in his mouth. Before the others could get back up, He crouched and lept over them, his back paws hitting the last one, knocking him offbalance and into a wall. That didn't stop him as he ran down the hall at full speed, the sound of dracon beams following him. < Animorphs! Fall back! Wherever your are, Get out!> Why was he all alone? Had the others fallen? He pulled around a corner, comming to a door labeled Emergency Exit. Well this certianly is an emergency. With one great slam of his paws the door crashed open, tossing the tiger outside. A dracon beam scraped his side and he tore out across the the lawn towards the perimeter. A flash of blue was all the warning he had though before his front paw went missing and he crashed to the ground. Dazed he stared up at Visser three, a sneer plastered in his four eyes. < An Andalite bandit....how nice of you to come to me. > Jake tried to get up but somehow didn't have the strength, and just watched in horror as that tail blade was pulled back and then shot down at lightning speed....
"AHHHH" Jake bolted straight up from his desk looking around him. Everyone else in the class was staring. "I'm sure that the scream which just disrupted my class was for a good cause, Mr. Berenson?" The English teacher was staring at him, clearly very unhappy. Jake began blushing. "Sorry, Mr. Devon. I had uh....I thought..."
"Next time you choose to sleep in class, try to do it more discreetly. I'll see you in detention this afternoon."
Jake nodded, his face burning at the giggles and stares he was recieiving. Some great leader I am, I get detention, and we were supposed to meet in Cassie's barn this afternooon.... Sighing, he picked up his pencil and began writing a note to give to Marco at lunch despite his better judgement, he would never hear the end of this.
